INTRODUCTION
Football Tekniq is a new football entity established to provide talented youngsters a unique opportunity to develop and master the necessary technical skills possessed by elite footballers.
The rationale for Football Tekniq is to provide an environment that is unique in terms of providing a structured technical focus which differentiates itself from the club 'results driven' culture!

Only players with the highest level of commitment will be accepted and must display dedication, determination and discipline to their football development.
AIMS
  • To deliver a quality program designed to specifically focus on the technical development of each individual player. Objective is for each player to get over 750 touches per training.
  • To implement the technical skills taught at training in weekly modified games.
    (i.e lateral touch, accurate pass, receiving a pass, side-on positioning)
  • To secure accredited coaches with a technical philosophy.
  • To promote skilful football all over the park and challenge players to use skill and creativity in all situations with the aim of keeping possession.
  • To maximize the footballer’s mental development of the game.
  • To encourage appropriate progression through ability/age.
  • Ultimately produce players capable of playing at an elite level.
PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Greg Mangonis
Greg has over 10 years coaching experience at senior and more recently elite junior level.
He has been fortunate enough to have been mentored by high calibre coaches to develop young footballers attain superior technical abilities.
Greg is accredited with an Asian Football Confederation (AFC) –B Coaching Licence and contains a Sports/Science Certificate.
Greg worked with young elite footballers in his role as a V-Elite coach in 2007/08 and was an FFV State Assistant Coach in 2008.
He was part of Australia's support staff at the 2003 World Youth Cup in the U.A.E and saw first hand the technical skills possessed by the world's elite youth footballers. This changed his football perspective forever!

2011 Trials Program at Mahoneys Reserve

T3kniq Summer program will be holding trials for advanced technical players, boys and girls, aged 10-15.

Sunday 11 September 2011:
Session 1: 3pm-4:15pm - U/10 to U/12
Session 2: 4:30pm-5:45pm - U/13 to U/15

Wednesday 14 September 2011:
Session 1: 5:45pm-7pm - U/10 to U/12
Session 2: 7:15pm-8:30pm - U/13 to U/15

Friday 16 September 2011
Session 1: 5:45pm-7pm U/10 to U/12
Session 2: 7:15pm-8:30pm - U/13 to U/15

To start on Saturday 01 October 2011.
Tentative training days (which may change subject to VCL training days): Monday, Tuesday, Thursday. Saturday morning is a definite. 11 week program.
